itchy crafty fingers
I just have to share this project with you! These amazing creations are story dice that Holly created using my doodles (and more patience than I can ever imagine possessing):
and look how she packaged them up to give to her son’s party guests:
What a fabulous idea! You can read exactly how she did it (with step by step pictures too) HERE. And while you are there, check out the rest of her blog – it’s chock full of inspiration. I really, really want to make this advent chain. I’m thinking that if I start now I should be finished by next Christmas, even with my dodgy sewing abilities!
I’m starting to get obsessed with the idea of doing some more hands-on crafting again. Drawing my doodles has been the extent of my craftiness for the last couple of years but I’m feeling the need to create something more! I am also fascinated by the Journal Your Christmas / December Daily albums and pages I’m seeing everywhere. Fascinated almost to the point of obsession. Are you working on a December project? If so, please link me up so I can get even more obsessed with the whole idea! I’m planning on squirelling away a few bits and pieces from this Christmas (cards, papers, wrap etc) with a view to actually creating a *whispers very quietly* paper album next year.

You might remember a few posts ago I was moaning about feeling decidedly Scrooge-like and not being able to get into the Christmas spirit. I had so many great suggestions for alternative Christmas doodles (I was sorely tempted by the Grinch ones! sadly the copyright laws were against me) and this is what I came up with in the end:
It was snowing here while I drew these! Seeing as it’s (almost) Christmas, these doodles are on sale at $1 today only! Here’s some warm and sunny CT inspiration:

Right, I have presents to wrap! And Christmas projects to dream of.
If I’m not back again before the big day, I hope those of you who celebrate have a truly wonderful Christmas spent with those who matter the most to you. I’m just hoping I don’t burst – my FIL keeps bringing me the most incredible mince pies, I think I have already eaten my own body weight in mince pies (or ‘min spies’ as they are known in our house) this week. Which reminds me, must add brandy butter to the shopping list! Have fun!

Those are ADORABLE!!! wow, they look amazing!!
I made story dice in the summer, but much simpler than hers! Here’s mine: http://www.myscrapbookart.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=175505&cat=all&ppuser=126
Thanks, love these. I live where it is hot for Xmas so these are perfect.
I know what you mean about the December Daily / Journal Your Christmas obsession…I am attempting a combination of the two (sorry, no pictures to share!) and loving it. There are a couple of people whose pages I wait excitedly to see every day (a bit like a child at Christmas!!)…might I just add that your pages would definitely be on that list! Looking forward to seeing your December Daily next year Kate! Great doodles as usual…Merry Christmas.
This kit would be awesome as I live in FL and it is soCUTE. I love your Santa. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Kate,
I love the new Santa doodles–just bought them in your shop. I feel sort of grinchy this year, too but your doodles brought a smile to my face. (I live in Florida in the southern U.S. where it stays pretty hot and does not feel much like Christmas.) I have not wrapped anything yet or sent my cards out yet. I need to get it together soon! Best wishes for a happy holiday to you and your family!
