DSD fun and games!

Brace yourself for a HUGE blog post (maybe go and get a nice cuppa and a biccie and get ready for a lot of scrolling). Here we go!

Whoo-hoo! Welcome to the Lilypad Digital Scrapbooking Day Blog Hop! It’s an exciting weekend for us over at TLP, we’re opening our forums and gallery for the first time. I hope you will come for a visit and a chat and share some of your layouts and projects with us :) I’m really looking forward to sharing our little pad community with everyone, please come along and say hello when you get a moment amidst all the frantic DSD shopping!

I have a little giveaway for the blog hop! Here’s a multi-photo template with plenty of room to load on the elements and make a big old cluttered mess, just the way I like it (DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE HERE):

Talking of big old cluttered messes, here’s the page I made with the template and some pics from our trip to the local Maize Maze. Which reminds me – I have a question for my American readers, would you call this a corn maze? They seem to be “Amazing Maize Mazes” over here!

Just in case you get lost somewhere along the way hopping from blog to blog, here’s a master list of everyone taking part:

Amy M – http://alb52.typepad.com/

We’re also running a fun little contest with all the goodies from the blog hop:  the first person to create an album with all the Blog Hop quickpages, templates and other freebies and who posts a link to the entire album HERE will receive a $30 GC to the store!

Now you need to hop over to Amanda’s blog and see what treat she has for you! Although you could always read the rest of this post first if you wanted to ;)

***************

I often get requests from customers for specific doodle packs (the potty training one springs to mind!) so I thought it might be fun to run a contest where you guys get to choose what I create. And because I like a challenge, I’m going to pick the winners by random so even if you have a really really obscure request you could still win *gulp* (be kind to me, I’m getting a bit nervous about this now!) To enter just leave me a comment here (before midnight EST next Friday 13th Nov) and let me know what doodles you’d like me to work on.

***************

And DSD wouldn’t be DSD without some shopping and some sales would it?! Most of my store is on sale (no coupon necessary) and I have two new doodle packs out for this month’s  BYOC too (I used them on the Amazing Maizey Maize Maze Amazement Maze thing layout above):

Check out the CT pages, such fun layouts here!

Here’s a little something for you using the new doodles. Its a fun ready-made Thanksgiving card created by the wonderful Sara Lively (DOWNLOAD CARD HERE) – just print, cut and fold and you’re done!

I hope you have a wonderful Digital Scrapbooking Day, pick up some bargains, come for a chat at TLP and hey – maybe even scrap a page or two!! Have a great weekend :)

    Hi
I have found a lack of good quality Aussie digital scrapbook elements, so I would love if you did an Aussie pack! Including things like kangaroos/wallabies, koalas, emus, platypus, turtles, eucalypt trees, Waratah flower, kookaburra, rainbow lorriket and sulphur crested cockatoo. It gives me goose bumps just thinking of it :)
    thanks

    Hi THERE! :)

Thanks for the chance to win your beautiful designs!

My idea for doodles would be a Nerf Theme Pack. Nerf Guns, Nerf Darts, Bunkers, Shields, Nerf Swords, Fun “pretend” Explosions, etc etc…A real fun pack not just for boys – but girls too! My boys are definitely my inspiration for this – but I love to play nerf with them. Our whole family gets into a giant nerf battle, it’s SO much fun! Also we had a nerf themed birthday party for my younger son this year. And so far as I can see – there is no such themed Digi-Scrap kit out there as of yet!

  41. Kaylea said:

I am getting ready to host a girl’s sleep over and hopefully a wii bowling tournament for the boys….(in Jan)…. I love using your doodles to create the invites and postcards for the kids….

I’d also love a “pj and movie” night type of kit….we host a “wear your pajamas and come to the movies” at the church night…..

Thanks for your latest and greatest kit and template. Awesome as usual. I’m so excited for your contest. My daughter’s third birthday was a Hawaiian Hula Party (right here in Massachusetts!) and I would love some doodles to go with that theme. You already have the palm trees and surf boards. I was thinking: lots of tropical flowers and leaves, those neat Hawaiian statues, pineapples, hula skirts, leis, luau word art, maybe a parrot or two. It might also motivated me to finally scrap my Hawaiian honeymoon. Thanks so much. Fingers crossed.

I love the new doodles for the BYOC! (My little guy was a cowboy for Halloween so the timing is perfect–had to buy them both!)

I am always searching for bugs, butterflies, earthworms and little crawly things. Maybe even a toad and a caterpillar, too! My special request would be “Little Critters.”

Thanks for all you do, Kate!

  59. Gemma said:

As a long time fan of your designs – I think the current trend for russian dolls would be great (either that, or tortoises since I’d like to scrap my new pet!)
    Thanks

I would love to have you do some birdwatching doodles! Some ideas would be a birdbath, birdfeeder, binoculars, camera with telephoto lens, bird identification book, and some birds, nests and eggs of course. You can call it Backyard Birds (since that’s where I do most of my watching :)
I also like the idea of video game doodles (especially ones that elude to Wii without infringing on copyrights) :)
    Thanks!!!

    Hi Kate!!
Thanks for the great template!! Im a huge fan of your doodles, and I am currently working on a Halloween album for my daughter, and she was Snow White for halloween. I know that there are copyright issues and such, would love to see a doodle of “princess-like” doodles =) with something similar to snow white. Thanks!!

  64. Joan said:

Wow, Kate! Custom doodles! *does cartwheels* You should probably avoid my post like the plague, because my request is no doubt too obscure. Bullmastiffs! No dog/pet kit ever has anything even close (bulldogs do NOT cut it, lol!) and I would be thrilled to bits if I could scrap a few of the many pics of my babies with some fab Kate doodles.

If that’s just way too obscure, I’d be willing to settle for some more ice hockey. :)

  65. Julia said:

Thanks for the great template! And yes, we’d call them corn mazes here in the US.

I’d love to see doodles for scrapping siblings–some doodles of kids playing together, some of kids arguing, some big kids of big kids with babies or younger kids, word art or strips, etc.

Another suggestion is a mixed pack of toys–cars, superheros, video games, dolls, stuffed animals, etc.

  68. Silberfuchs said:

Thank you for the great template!

I think I own almost all of your gorgeous doodles and can think of a ton I’d like you to design but what comes to my mind first would be a set of doodles for the St. Martin’s Day.
The day is celebrated in the evening of November 11 in Belgium, some parts of the Netherlands and most areas of Germany and Austria. Children go through the streets with paper lanterns and candles, and sing songs about St. Martin. Sometimes, a man dressed as St. Martin rides on a horse in front of the procession.
In the United Kingdom, St Martin’s Day is known as Martinmas (or sometimes Martlemass).

    Happy belated DSD from Cologne

Photography. DSLR, point & shoot, lenses, flash, tripod, etc.

Dogs…dogs, (I’ll need a black lab, please. lol), paw prints, dog house, food/water bowls, bones, chew toys, ropes.
