I’ve got a blog! I’ve got a blog! Na na na na na, I got a blog!

Well, I’ve gone and done it, I’ve got myself a blog! I’ve been thinking about it for a while after having problems showing off my layouts to my family who aren’t members of UK Scrappers, and so here it is, my very own little scrapping blog! The plan is to put my favourite layouts up here, maybe design a few kits and scrapping bits and pieces and put them here too and just have fun with it.

My scrapping history:
It all started in November ‘05 when I realised I hadn’t printed off any photos for the family album for months. We had loads of pictures from the Live8 concerts in London, but the quality was pretty poor as they were taken with Bruce’s mobile (I was sat at home feeling very VERY sorry for myself watching it on the TV and cursing “morning” sickness, but that’s another story…). I was vaguely familiar with scrapping through the cardmaking I had been doing, but hadn’t been tempted to give it a try, the layouts I had come across were ‘vintage’ in style, very lacey and flowery – not my thing at all. I can actually remember saying to Bruce that I wasn’t interested in scrapbooking. How times change…

I really wanted to have the Live8 pics printed, Bruce and Matt had a great time and it was such a wonderful event to be part of. The problem was I knew the prints would be pretty bad, so I decided to lump them all together in Photoshop, scan in a few mementoes of the day, add a bit of text about the event and see what I could come up with. I basically created my very first layout without even knowing I was scrapping. Here are the final results:

I really enjoyed doing this and then I remembered a website I had come across by accident a little while ago but not really looked at. I logged back on to scrapbook-bytes and discovered the magical, wonderful, glorious world of digital-scrapping! And that was it. I haven’t looked back since. I’ve tried so many different crafts over the years but scrapping is just perfect for me, I’m having such a good time doing it! (Oh, and I haven’t made another card since….)
