First up is a collab with my favourite two K’s – Kaye and Karah. We really enjoying working together on our Bring on the Cake collab so we decided to do it again, but this time we were inspired to get grubby and mucky and create a kit based on Karah’s son’s love of TV survival shows! I have to admit that it took me quite a while to realise that what is Man Vs Wild in the States is actually the UK show Born Survivor, I had NO idea what Kaye and Karah were talking about for quite a while. Karah’s son LOVES Bear Grylls so these TV shows were our inspiration. I spent many hours sketching away whilst listening / watching You Tube footage, my DH thought I had gone quite mad…..lol

After I re-released the Old Skool bits and bobs last week my CT suggested that I re-release another oldie, so here is my Wordy-Bits alpha back from the depths of my hard drive ready for a TT $1 day deal! This is one of my favourite alphas, it was originally part of a collab with my lovely pal Tiff Brady and we retired it when Tiff stopped designing. There are two previews because I can’t decide which one I like best (hobnob / sky remote brain at work again!)

P.S. FJ Old School is the kit that I have had the most correspondence about after release, by a long looong way. And the reason for most of the correspondence is the red shield like badge in front of the locker in the preview. The one that says “Prefect”. Not “perfect”. It is actually meant to say “Prefect” – it wasn’t some ironic misspelling of ‘perfect’ ah ha ha ha!!

I assumed that Prefect was an international term (both Rach and Michelle from the original FJ collab understood it, which I later worked out was because they both read Harry Potter!!) but now I know that it isn’t. At all. For the record, a prefect is a school pupil who has a position of authority over other pupils, a bit like a head boy or girl, or maybe a hall monitor. Just another of those strange British-isms I like to throw out there every once in a while, you know, just to confuse people

Your challenge for the day (should you chose to accept it) is to use the word “Prefect” in a sentence and see if anyone notices. Or asks if you meant “perfect”.
